Protests have broken out around the nation in the wake of Donald Trump's victory over Hillary Clinton, to claim the White House on Election Day. But while many display their disappointment, there are those who have rejoiced in celebration, and one sector of society, in particular, looks to take to the streets to make their post-election statement. White supremacists from around the Pelham area of North Carolina will be joining this December, to attend a victory parade for the new U.S. President.

The local Pelham chapter of the Ku Klux Klan has scheduled December 3 to be the day of the celebration. They have yet to have publicized a time and location but have already begun to advertise the event on the Loyal White Knights website. “TRUMP = TRUMP’S RACE UNITED MY PEOPLE,” a flier on the site reads, with a photo of Trump and a categorization of the event as the Victory Klavalkade Klan Parade.

Donald Trump has had trouble shaking the notion that his campaign has had any significant association with the white nationalist community. Former Klan leader David Duke publicly endorsed his campaign; Trump has fumbled a couple of times by how he responded to the question of his relationship with the KKK. He would eventually disavow the group but was blasted in the media for dancing around the request that he bat down their support, initially stating that he had no power to choose who supports him.
