It was an eventful evening for Nick Young on Wednesday, October 26, as he found himself rushing to the hospital after hustling up and down the court for the 2016-17 season opener at the Staples Center. Ex-girlfriend Keonna Green had been carrying his second child with her for more than nine months, and just so happened to go into labor as the Lakers guard competed to start the year off with a win.
Led by Jordan Clarkson and D'Angelo Russell, L.A. took the game by a score of 120-114. Young was on the court for 26 minutes of the action, contributing 8 points, three rebounds, and an assist. But having received the call that his baby daughter was on his way, he left the celebration to his teammates as he dashed over to be there when she was born. Snapchat clips of Young pacing the delivery room revealed him to be excited and a bit nervous as he waited. It wouldn't be until morning time Thursday that Green gave birth, however.
While Green and Young are no longer in a relationship, they keep communication and are said to remain on good terms. Many will recall news of Green's pregnancy breaking early this past summer, as it was alleged to be one of the causes of former fiance Iggy Azalea's break-up with the basketball veteran. The family's new addition gives four-year-old Nick Young, Jr. his first baby sister.
