Azealia Banks is looking to back out of her record deal with the legendary Wu-Tang producer RZA.

The Harlem rapper was negotiating a deal with him for the past three weeks but decided to drop out after RZA failed to stand up for her in her recent altercation with actor Russell Crowe, according to TMZ. RZA’s rep recently called her to close the deal, but she responded by backing out. The producer’s camp is said to be okay with her decision and claimed the incident with Crowe was pretty much her fault.  The altercation occurred at a party she was invited to by RZA at Crowe's hotel suite.

Banks and Crowe reportedly got into it when the rapper laughed out loud while Russell was playing music for his guests and she called them “boring white men.” A female guest responded by telling Banks to be quiet, but she kept taunting them, according to some of the witnesses. She then made some harsh threats towards Crowe and the woman. “You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino s***,” said Banks. She picked up her glass and cocked it back which set Crowe off. He grabbed her in a bear hug and got her out of the room.

Azealia told a different story. She claimed Russell called her the N-word, grabbed her, choked her and threw her out of his room. She also said the altercation ended with him spitting on her in the hallway. Four guests gave statements during the investigation, and all of them described Banks’ behavior as “erratic.” RZA also said she used the n-word.
