The daughter of singer Sade is now taking male hormone injections to begin her transition into being a man.
Mickailia Ila Morgan, 21, has struggled with mental issues over the years and now seems to be ready to make a change. She took to social media this week to announce her decision and stated that she was taking injections to transition from female to male. She posted a picture of herself with short hair, wearing man’s clothes with no makeup. “Today is the first day of the rest of my life,” she wrote with the hashtags “#shot day #first shot #finally #ftm #selfmademan #transman #proud #yaaassss.” There wasn’t any indication that she would be changing her name. Morgan is Sade’s only child. Her father is Jamaican-American producer Bob Morgan.
Sade’s reclusive lifestyle kept her daughter out of the spotlight for quite some time. The singer hasn’t released a new album since 2010’s “Soldier of Love.” That project came out 10 years after her “Lovers Rock” album. She also has never commented publicly on her daughter’s gender issues.
