There was a time when Desiigner rapped and didn’t sound anything like future.
Yes, it’s true. A new video surfaced this week showing the “Panda” man rapping in his younger days. The rhymes seemed a lot more aggressive, and his words are a bit clearer overall. “Car crash call it racing out. Bullet kisses call it making out,” raps Desiigner at the beginning of the clip. He’s still spitting pretty fast like he does in most of his newer songs. The video is also just a freestyle with no effects on it, so it’s difficult to compare it to his actual songs. It’s raw and features the rapper with his shirt off and hat backwards going hard. To see more of young Desiigner check out the video above.
Desiigner has been accused of sounding too much like Future by many in the music business. Many rappers including Brooklyn’s own Uncle Murda thought “Panda” was actually Future’s song when they first heard it. The G.O.O.D. Music signee doesn’t seem to be bothered by the comparisons. He’s admitted to being a fan of the Atlanta rapper’s music but told Rap-up that they are just different artists doing different things.
