Philadelphia was definitely in the house at the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards on Tuesday [October 4], with a broad spectrum of talent ranging from the old [Ms. Jade], to the new [Kur]. While Lil Uzi Vert might have led the way for Philly, on a night that focused largely on a new generation of rappers, it was the presence of State Property that grabbed the attention of most, with Beanie Sigel joining Peedi Crakk, Neef Buck, Omillio, and Freeway during one of the show's cyphers. Absent from the night's events was Meek Mill, but that doesn't mean his influence wasn't at work, as the Dream Chasers boss took to Instagram on Wednesday to claim that a good portion of the event was his idea.

"BY THE WAY...... I'm the one who pitched a Philly cypher and getting philly more involved with @bet," Meek wrote. "Alley ooping a n#%ga that's throwing shade but still catching blessings!"

There has been questioning as to just how stable the Philly rap scene is, in the aftermath of the confrontation between Meek's camp and Sigel in September. Over the past several days Beans has been putting out signals that imply he is on the verge of retaliating via wax, having put out photos of him holding guns, and releasing a snippet of a song in which he spits a rhyme inspired by Biggie's "Somebody's Got to Die." But the visibility of a seemingly united Philly at the awards show would support a claim made to the contrary, by AR-Ab, who asserted that despite their tiffs, rappers throughout the city agree to sustain a cordial existence among one another.
