Killer Mike and Brother J ironed out a brief quarrel that could have threatened a relationship of mutual respect on Friday, September 29, after the veteran X Clan rapper dropped Mike's name in a rant that called out celebrities for coddling politicians.

In an Instagram post that slammed Mary J Blige's Apple Music interview with Hillary Clinton as "so coon," Brother J questioned whether after having campaigned with the former Democratic Party candidate, Killer Mike will follow through on building with Bernie Sanders and "do an album together and build a school." He also targeted Lil Wayne in the post, referencing his claim that he's never experienced racism during a recent episode of undisputed. "That Tom house must be plush," said Brother J.

Through an IG post that has since been deleted, Killer Mike would respond scathingly to Brother J, writing, “So one of my rap ‘heros’ (naw not really) did the most un man (Sucka S**t) like thing and ‘talked’ down on me behind my back like a child, when he cud have @’d me.” After venting with a few more insults, including an insinuation that X Clan was a second rate Public Enemy and that he was never really a fan of his elder, he defended his activist cred with a snarky remark that read, "I hope all that s*** u rapped was true and if so where are the schools and or programs u build as I will promote them faithfully if you want. Ok I employ black people and own properties that house blacks umma get back to that like Garvey & Elijah. Umma let u get a back to talking down on me like old head preacher n****s do. Love and Respect always.”

Brother J and Killer Mike's righteous dispute didn't brew for too long before they each cooled down and exchanged apologies. The X Clan rapper acknowledged that he was out of place for putting Mike out over social media and Mike replied favorably, saying that he's still got love for Brother J. "@Killermike love and respect Fam. #Salute. I guess they now realize I would never bash a soldier in motion .. I'll build with u direct .. Bless," J wrote.
