If the success of Power is any indication, the Starz network will undoubtedly have something big on it's hands come the premiere of the Black Mafia Family series, projected to air in 2017. Not only will 50 Cent be putting the world on to one of the most fascinating stories to come out of the rap industry and the streets, he has promised to keep it as true to life as it could possibly be. He's even selected the son of BMF boss, Big Meech to act in the show.

"This is going to be 100% true, 100% the rise and fall. It's going to be completely non-fictional," said Demetrius Flenory Jr. [Lil Meech], on his role in the production. Flenory Jr. is set to play his father's younger self, a portrayal he told DJ Smallz Eyes he has prepared for by speaking with his dad and spending time in the old man's native Detroit to get a feel for his humble beginnings. It is a surreal development for the young actor, one which he remembers Big Meech visualizing and sharing with him in his early years. "He always wanted me to play him. He always told me that he wanted a TV show and he wanted me to play him when he was younger," Flenory Jr. said.

Although there is perhaps nobody who could be more familiar with the part, Lil Meech has quite a task ahead of him. Aside from having once played a part in a short film, acting is something new to him. And while he's been taking drama classes to boost his craft, acting is not Flenory Jr.'s only ambition. Beyond film, he says that he looks forward to pursuing engineering and producing, and is currently working on a clothing line that will capitalize off of the name his father made for himself while building an empire.
