The recorded killings of Black men by police that have been circulating the internet over the past few years have reached their point of tolerance for many people. Before the Terence Crutcher and Keith Scott shootings, there were the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile only days apart in July. Many will recall those incidents being preceded by numerous stories of men falling victim to police violence, and that's not to mention the deaths of children and women by law enforcement, from Tamir Rice, to Sandra Bland and Korryn Goins more recently.

One follower of such incidents, to have expressed overwhelming feelings by the violence, is Nicki Minaj, who on Instagram shared a quote gone viral, which reads, I CAN'T WATCH ANYMORE VIDEOS OF BLACK MEN BEING SHOT FOR NO REASON. In conjunction with her sentiment on the graphic and painful nature of the footage she's come across, Minaj also vowed to abstain from viewing films on slavery any longer, writing, "Nor will I watch #AnotherSlaveMovie ENOUGH."

Nicki is one of many public figures who've sworn off cinema that depicts African-American life during the epic of slavery in U.S. history. Back in May Snoop Dogg created a stir when he posted to Instagram with a video message, in which he shunned the remake of Roots. Snoop's protest of the series prompted a scathing response from NewsOne Now host Roland Martin, in turn starting a debate on the favorability of slave tales in the Black community.
