Right before his untimely death, Shawty Lo made a video for a tribute to his father, aptly titled "Letter to My Father." The Atlanta rapper's father, Carl L. Walker, died just two weeks prior to his fatal car accident, and Shawty wrote a heartfelt song to share his feelings on the deep loss.

Shawty Lo had been promoting the song on his Instagram right before his death, and it was released by producer DTrain808, who wrote on YouTube, "RIP TO MY BIG BRO!!!! Prayers for him and his family. He just Lost His dad 2 weeks ago. This the last song he recorded. Legends Never Die. #RIPShawtyLO."
