Gucci Mane told Funkmaster Flex that he sold Young Thug’s contract to Todd Moscowitz of 300 Entertainment when he was in prison.

Thug was once signed to Gucci as an artist, but there wasn’t much he could do for him behind bars. “He was signed to me,” said Gucci. “I sold his contract to my friend Todd. To be honest, I talk with Thug, I really care about Thug. Thug is super talented I’ve been seeing it, so I don’t want you thinking I’m trying to be funny. It’s that I felt, I was getting wind of him dealing with a lot of different people and I called him and told him I want you to do this deal with Todd because I want you in the best hands. I didn’t want nobody to take advantage of him. I wanted him to be his own boss.” Gucci told Thug that 300 really believed in him and would let him start his own label and take it as far as he could. Lyor Cohen is also a part of 300 Entertainment.

Gucci also explained how he was able to release so much music when he was in prison. Shortly before going in, he had an all-star roster with him that included Young Thug, Migos, Young Scooter and Waka Flocka and he was recording non-stop. Once he got locked up, he decided to  release everything that remained on his hard drive. He even was able to collaborate with people he hadn’t met yet. “I was letting people know, even though I’m locked up I still want to have a presence.”
