A CNN reporter was checked to the ground during the protests in Charlotte, North Carolina this week.

The reporter was doing his job when a man ran into him and knocked him to the ground. The fall was broadcast and was aired in the clip above. He gets right back up after and tells Anderson Cooper that he’s "ok.” His colleagues ended up helping him back to his feet, and he refused to leave that area after Cooper suggested that maybe he cover the protests from a different site.

The protests were sparked by the death of Black man, Keith Lamont, who was killed at the hands of police. They’ve gotten more dangerous throughout the week and prompted the state’s governor to declare a state of emergency over the city. Police even had to resort to tear gas to calm the frustrated crowds. The police shot Scott after he approached them and refused to drop his weapon. Some eyewitnesses claim it was nothing but a book, but the city’s police commissioner said those reports were inaccurate.
