During a recent interview with Thisis50, Cam'ron revealed that he received a small sum for the iconic movie, Paid in Full.

When asked if Jay Z was supposed to be in the movie but was not due to a problem with the mother of the late Rich Porter, Cam said he wasn't on the executive side; he just received a flat sum of money for his role and that was all.

"To be totally honest with you, I believe I got $8500 to do that movie, and that was the end of it," said Cam. "I don't know (how much the movie grossed) I was just more happy and excited just to do the movie. That movie came out like 2002, 2003 but it got filmed in 2000, it was delayed putting the movie out.  I only had one album out, for me to even be invited to do the movie, I wasn't trying to complain, I really wasn't trying to learn the business, I was just wanting to be in the movie."

Cam said he later learned the business because his first album he got jerked around. The film grossed over $3 million according to IMDb and was recently available on Netflix.  It became a cult classic, and lines he said like "Ni--as get shot everyday B," are still used to do this day.  Cam'ron also says he still gets called Rico (the name of his character) "twice, three times a week."

Cam says he did receive more offers for movie roles, but he was under the umbrella of Dame Dash where they preferred to do things themselves to receive the most profit and maintain creative direction.  He says although his movie KillaSeason went straight to DVD, they sold about 400,000 copies for $20 each.

"We know how to get money from movies without having to be in the movie, so being an executive producer of movies and being in them as well, is something I'd rather do than just take a part and not be comfortable with the part," says Cam'ron.
