A search is on for the man purported to be responsible for the bombing that injured dozens in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan on Saturday [September 17]. Authorities have identified 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami of Elizabeth, New Jersey, as the main suspect in connection with the explosion. There were no reports of fatalities in the incident, but 29 people were wounded in the blast, which took place on West 23 Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenue, at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

During the early hours of Monday morning, a bomb squad continued to scour for deadly devices the following night in which law enforcement was alerted of five suspicious devices erecting from a trash can in Elizabeth, NJ. One of the pipe and wire composed gadgets was detonated with the help of a robot. It was one of the several explosions that have been recorded around the New York City/New Jersey metro area over the weekend. Authorities believe the chain of events to be connected, including the explosion of a pipe bomb along the route of a 5k Marine Corp charity race in Seaside Park on Saturday morning.

Rahami has been described as a 5'6" tall naturalized citizen of Afghan descent. He is reported to weigh around 200 pounds and has brown hair, brown eyes, and brown facial hair. The suspect reportedly came to the attention of law enforcement through video surveillance that allegedly shows him "rolling a duffel bag near the scene of the bombing in New York's Chelsea neighborhood," CNN reports. Investigators are also looking into a 911 call in which someone is said to have claimed responsibility for the attack.
