It looks like Colin Kaepernick's protest may extend over into the NBA. Los Angeles Lakers veteran Nick Young has been known to clown around and take life easy, but if he's serious about what he told a TMZ reporter who caught up with him outside of Playhouse nightclub, fans might be faced with booing or clapping for him as he sits during the National Anthem.

"I would do the same thing man ... my knees hurt, but I might sit," Young said after responding to question as to what he thought of Kaepernick's stance, by saying he thought it was great. "He's doing big things man. I respect everything that he's doing."

There will be eyes watching for who might follow up on the call to action put out by stars Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony during this year's ESPY Awards. Former NFL quarterback turned sports radio/television personality Boomer Esiason recently targeted Anthony in comments which blasted Kaepernick's gesture as disrespectful. "If Carmelo Anthony walks on the court in a Knicks uniform and starts in with this, I think it’s going to create a lot of problems,” he said. “I don’t think it’s their right to do it on a court which a team pays them millions of dollars to perform a job." As it stands Kaepernick's protest has drawn the solidarity of teammate Eric Reid and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane.
