Cee-Lo Green sat down and spoke with Sway on Friday, [August 26], during a conversation on his new rap project and the much anticipated Dungeon Family reunion. Mention of Drake came up in the discussion, as word of Andre 3000's appearance on the [September 10th] get together organically led to talk of the "Solo (Reprise)" verse on Frank Ocean's recent project, which many have assumed directs a jab at the OVO rapper. Having elaborated on the homage he pays to his idol lyricists on "My Favorite MCs," Cee-Lo shifted gears to address what he knows about 3000's recent verse, debunking people's assumptions in the process.

“Stacks is killing ’em right now. I was telling him on the phone yesterday, I was like, ‘Ohh, you spazzed on that Frank Ocean verse. But he was telling me that he did that verse like two years ago," he told Sway, before flat out rejecting the idea that Dre is playing up to the knock against Drizzy. "Yeah, I can confirm that it’s not [about Drake], but it’s good for hip-hop, though,” he said.

Amidst increasing talk of the OVO rapper's alleged reliance on ghostwriters, many have pondered whether Andre 3000 is alluding to Drake when he spits, "After 20 years in, I'm so naive I was under the impression that everyone wrote their own verses." Rumors surrounding Drake's writing process came to the forefront during the unraveling of his relationship with Meek Mill a year ago. In response to "Views" rapper calling him out during his Summer Sixteen tour last month, Funkmaster Flex put him on blast during his radio show, alleging that Drake was likely receiving help with his rhymes as far back as his first radio appearance in 2007.
