In Muskogee, Oklahoma Police are investigating a pepper-spray incident involving an 84-year-old woman in her home.

News station Fox 23 reports that officers were looking for Geneva Smith's son last week when he ran into his home where police used a Taser on him. Smith then came out to see what was going on, and one of the officers asked her to turn around. The video then shows Smith being sprayed in the face after which she immediately went down. Reports also say that family members stated Smith had to go to the hospital, and they would like an apology from the police department.

Muskogee Police Chief Rex Eskridge said to Fox 23 that the department released the body cam footage to the public to be in full transparency. The investigation is ongoing, and there are reportedly two more officers left to interview before it is complete. Chief Eskridge said he would then decide where to go from there. "This is a very important issue," said Eskridge to Fox 23. "There is a lot of missing information out there. There is a lot of prejudgment out there and a lot of concern."
