Dwyane Wade's cousin Nykea Aldridge was a victim of the ongoing violence in Chicago, as she was shot while pushing a baby stroller on the South Side of the city on Friday (August 26). Pastor Jolinda Wade, Dwyane's mother, identified the 32-year-old mother of four as her niece.

The famed basketball player tweeted about his cousin's death on Twitter, "My cousin was killed today in Chicago. Another act of senseless gun violence. 4 kids lost their mom for NO REASON. Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough."

Jolinda also spoke out, "This is one particular time our family wished we didn't have to be speaking to the media about anything. (I) just sat up on a panel yesterday, (with ESPN wesbite) The Undefeated, talking about the violence that's going on within our city of Chicago, never knowing that we would be the ones ... actually living and experiencing it."

According to authorities, Aldridge was hit around 3:30 pm while walking to register her kids for school when two males approached another man and opened fire in a gang-related shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
