It turns out Lil Poopy will not be bringing his talent to Sony/Epic Records. Days after news that the major label had struck a deal with the kid rapper began circulating, company executives came forward to debunk any such reports.

"My name is NO. My sign is NO. My answer is NO," Epic CEO L.A. Reid tweeted on Monday [August 22]. "Not signed here baby! #NotEpic."

Reid took to social media after Billboard reported that Epic executive vice president of media and strategic development, Laura Swanson had dispelled word of Lil Poopy's signing. The 13-year-old internet sensation was alleged to have agreed to a four-year contract with the label, drawing varying reactions from those whom had witnessed him transition from his viral beginnings as a 9-year-old rapping about money and women on such songs as "Ima Cokeboy" and "Pop That (Remix)", to his appearance as a contestant on The Rap Game.

Headlines recognizing the fabricated report had been published by numerous Boston area media outlets and was even covered by the New York Daily News.
