Paris Jackson revealed that her father used to listen to Kanye West over the weekend, as she defended the now 10th most prolific Billboard Top 40 artist against criticism after he surpassed the King of Pop's mark of 39 Top 40 hits.

The exchange happened on Twitter, after a user by the name of Corey_Young expressed anger over news of Ye's historic accomplishment. "I'm f***ing mad, screw Kanye West for knocking Michael off the chart," she said. Paris came across the rant and replied with the kind of insight that will undoubtedly make West's day.

"The first time I ever heard Kanye's heartbreak album was from my dad, he played it for me all the time. He liked him," she responded, before explaining that her father recognized good music regardless who made it. Paris then recommended that fans give recognition where recognition is due, the same. "So if someone breaks a new record, be happy for them. They worked hard for it and they earned it."
