The Democratic National Convention took place this past Tuesday, which found figures like Michelle Obama, Bernie Sanders, and more delivering speeches. Outside of the convention, a protest was formed by members of #BlackLivesMatter. The organization was protesting recent police shootings black men, most of whom were unarmed. During the protest, a moment was caught on tape that showed one activist trying to separate reporters in the crowd based on their race. The activist went on to say "White media get to the back! Black media come to the front!" After white reporters in the crowd did not respond or comply with what she asked, she said that protesters are "not afraid to put people out."
The activist also told the white protesters to "take your rightful positions, and get behind us." She then said to BLM protesters "Y'all see any white folks, direct them to the back of the crowd."
