During her DNC address, the first lady Michelle Obama pointed out that the White House was built by African American slaves. Michelle stated "I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves. I watch my daughters — two beautiful, intelligent, black young women — playing with their dogs on the White House lawn." Since then, Bill O'Reilly has taken to his show "The O'Reilly Factor" to respond to Michelle Obama, in attempts to fact-check her statement made during her speech.

O'Reilly said that the slaves who were brought in to work on the White House from 1792 to 1800 were "well-fed and had decent lodging." O'Reilly went on to say "Slaves did participate in the construction of the White House. In addition, free blacks, white and immigrants also worked on the massive building. Michelle Obama is essentially correct in citing slaves as builders of the White House, but there were others working as well." The host went on to point out that the federal government put an end to the use of slave labor in 1802. However, construction on the White House was already completed. Watch the clip above.
