Afrika Bambaataa recently had child molestation accusations brought up against, which split the hip hop community down the middle in terms of support. KRS-One has been in support of the former Zulu Nation leader since the accusations came up and even wrote his own statement commenting on the allegations. In a recent interview, KRS-One definitively drew his line in the sand by saying anyone who has an issue with Bambaataa should quit hip hop.

KRS said "when you're talking about Afrika Bambaataa, first of all, you're talking about the person who invented hip hop. Not participated in it. There was no hip hop before Afrika Bambaataa. Let's start there. So anyone who has a problem with Afrika Bambaataa should quit hip hop. The rapper also went on to say that the alleged victims of Bambaataa are hoping to heal from making their accusations publicly. KRS said "As I wrote in my statement, I hope for healing for everyone involved. First for those who are accusing Afrika Bambaataa. Accusing. No evidence, no convictions. OK, but we will at least give you the benefit of the doubt. You made these accusations against Afrika Bambaataa. OK, no problem. Bam, deal with that."

When asked if the victims and the accused should be given an equal platform, KRS said "our [hip hop] leadership has to be untouchable." He also went on to say that some of hip hop's leaders are "infallible" and should stay beyond disapproval or else the culture will die.
