ASAP Rocky has been under fire recently for comments he made in an interview with Rolling Out, where he was asked if he felt like he was being forced to address issues with black people in America. The rapper replied "So every time something happens because I'm black I gotta stand up? What the f*** am I, Al Sharpton now? I'm ASAP Rocky. I did not sign up to be no political activist. I wanna talk about my motherf***in' lean, my best friend dying, the girls that come in and out of my life, the jiggy fashion that I wear. I don't wanna talk about no f***ing Ferguson and s*** because I don't live over there!"

Rocky has since then tried to clear up his statements via Twitter, saying "First yalh say i'm illuminati, then i'm gay, then say I don't like darkskinned chicks in red lipstick, now i'm dumb n don't care about blacks." F*** all these cops killin the urban youth dem, n f*** all yalh n****s for d*** ridin on bash rocky day, lmao, until next time twitter."

Rocky may have tried to clear up his statements, but former NBA player Stephen Jackson is not here for it, responding with a video statement directed at the rapper. In the video, Jackson got at Rocky about his usage of the word "Trill," saying "No more trill talk out your mouth either,” Jackson said in a video clip. “You ain’t from Port Arthur. Me being a Port Arthur a representative, a native, you can’t say ‘trill’ no more ’cause you ain’t trill. Therefore, anybody in your camp using ‘trill,’ stop using it. Rest in peace Pimp [C]. I am Port Arthur – you not trill, you not from Texas. Get your own swag. That’s coming from the president of Port Arthur where the word ‘trill’ was created.”

Many took ASAP Rocky's comments as a slight to movements like #BlackLivesMatter, especially in the heated climate that America is currently facing with law enforcement relations with the black community.
