The reaction to the death of Alton Sterling has shaken up the country, especially considering the footage that was captured by witnesses that show Sterling being shot even though he had no weapon in his hand. Now, according to court documents, the Louisiana police officers who killed Alton Sterling are claiming that they were responding to him reaching for a gun. A detective on the case gave more information, saying "While the officers were attempting to subdue the subject the officers observed the butt of a gun in the subject’s front pants pocket." Despite their claims, two video camera angles provided by witnesses go against their claim. The subject was shot multiple times and did not survive his injuries.”
