The New York Knicks look to continue building a playoff caliber team this off season, with sources confirming their next target will be Joakim Noah, who is a free agent. With the signing, Noah will reunite with former teammate Derrick Rose, who the Knicks recently acquired.  Noah is said to come with a price tag of $18 million per year.

The 6'11 center is sure to be a much needed asset on the boards for New York.  With a career average of 9.4 rebounds and a reputation as a hard nosed defender, with Noah the Knicks hope to have a presence in the paint who can feed the ball back to scorers Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis.  There will be question as to how Noah rebounds after a season in which he only played 29 games.

For the Knicks, the acquisition is a sign that Knicks President Phil Jackson is committed to speeding up their road to the NBA Finals.  Jackson was criticized for drafting Porzingis last year, with insiders projecting that it would take some time for the rookie phenom to develop; placing the trajectory for a successful Knicks team a couple of years down the road. But Porzingis outperformed, and thus the goals for Jackson have quickly become lofty.
