Derrick Rose recently made the jump from the Chicago Bulls to the New York Knicks, which was a shock to many. Rose has been in good spirits though, letting the world know during a press conference that he is ready to play for New York. With Rose gone from the Bulls, the team was left to shooting guard Jimmy Butler. There were rumors of a feud between the two players for the longest, which led many to believe that the Bulls were set to make a choice between the two players.

Butler figured it was going to come to this point, as he told ESPN, "They called me. I can’t say I was surprised, but I knew it had to be one of us, to tell you the truth. Obviously, I enjoyed playing with him. I came into the league when he was the MVP. I got so much respect for the guy. I have no bad things to say about him, and I wish him the best moving forward."

Butler wanted to clear the air after the trade, taking to Instagram to praise Rose by saying "You helped shape me into the player I am today. Helped teach me the work ethic needed to excel in this league. You are a leader, thru and thru. Always a supportive teammate and friend. I'll always be thankful for the opportunity I had to play alongside you each night and I know you're going to continue to be the great player and leader you were in Chicago for years to come."
