DMX made his return to The Breakfast Club this week where he discussed squashing his beef with Drake.

The “Ruff Ryders Anthem” rapper told hosts Charlemagne tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy that he always thought Drake was a nice lyricist, but hated on him for other reasons. After receiving a call from Drake about a song on “Views” that samples X’s “How’s It Goin' Down,” he said he had no choice but to respect him. “I did always say that he was a talented lyricist, but I was not a fan. You’re right. [His call] was another humbling experience. For him to make the effort, first to want to use a song of mine. And then be man enough to reach out and make that call, I was like homie pass off man. That was a real move. Real is real. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. I salute him for that,” he said.

DMX described the call a bit to the radio show and said Drake showed a lot of love. “Me and 40, you raised us man,” said Drake on the call. “I was like wow, ‘here you are feeling this way, know that this n***a love you man.’” DMX also said he ended up using one of Drake’s beats before he went to prison. He made sure to let Drake know that things had come full circle now. DMX famously expressed his dislike for Drake in a 2012 Breakfast Club interview. He said at that time that he didn’t like anything about Drake. Aside from discussing Drake in the new interview, he said there’s also a possibility that he might bury the hatchet with Jay Z.
