Lil Wayne may be facing a misdemeanor batter charge as he was accused of punching a bouncer at the door of a nightclub after the BET Awards on Sunday, June 26. The unidentified Hyde nightclub staffer is reported to have sought medical attention at a local hospital following the incident. He would later file a battery report with Los Angeles police.

According to sources close to TMZ, a confrontation broke out when members of Wayne's entourage were denied entry into the Sunset Strip spot. Along with 2 Chainz, the rapper was hosting an awards show after party when he approached security outside of the venue. In the heat of the argument the bouncer is said to have grabbed Wayne's arm, supposedly unaware of who he was. That's when, according to the alleged victim, Wayne swung, knocking him in the face.

Wayne's camp denies that there is any truth to the allegations, posing that the man had spent the whole night working beside Weezy in the club's VIP section. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
