On Wednesday [June 22], Troy Ave's defense team gave reporters an update on the case to reinforce their position that his hands are clean of any bloodshed spilled during the concert shooting at Irving Plaza in May.  Unlike his early June hearing from which he was absent as a grand jury voted to indict him, Troy showed up to plead not guilty from the seat of his wheelchair.  The defense has maintained he is a victim in the case, and as such, has requested bail; a motion which the judge has invited them to supply documents to support at Troy's next court date on July 1.

"We're hopeful at that point the DA is going to be persuaded to consent to the bail package that we have put forward," said attorney for the defense, John Stella. "He's 32 years old, he has no criminal record. This is his first significant scrape like this in a long life."

Stella and Scott Leemon would continue to address questions on their way out, including inquiry into what they felt about Troy releasing his mixtape from jail.  Leemon laughed as Stella shook his head and turned to walk away.  But before parting, they gave detail of the actions they will argue that took place during the incident that was recorded inside of the green room.  According to the defense, both the woman struck in the leg and the man who was hit on the lower level of the club by a stray that penetrated the floor, were victims like Troy.

"Scientific evidence will support the position that the way the bullets came into the victims, could not have been done by Troy," attorney Scott Leemon said before his partner gave the rundown of what they say they are convinced happened that night.  "He didn't kill anyone, he didn't hurt anyone, or shoot that gun," he said in conclusion.
