The New York Knicks have acquired Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls.

In addition to Rose, the Knicks also get Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round pick from the Bulls.  Chicago receives Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon.

Obviously Rose isn't the explosive player he used to be after suffering a torn ACL and two major knee injuries.  But he's still a vast improvement over Calderon and the woes the Knicks have had in the point guard position for quite a few years.  Rose averaged 16.4 points on 42.7 percent shooting, 4.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in the 66 games he played in the 2015-16 season. He is also in a contract year and will have to play his best.

The Knicks also did a big salary dump. The Bulls picked up Robin Lopez as they are expected to lose both Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah in free agency.  They however want to re-sign Noah.

The Bulls have scheduled a 5 p.m. ET news conference Wednesday.
