The impassioned debate over gun control in America received an unlikely voice on Tuesday [June 21], when reality television star Kim Kardashian lashed out against the Senate's failure to pass four gun control measure's that came to the floor on Monday.

"The fact that anyone can so easily access guns is so scary & after all of the devastating loss the Senate should have not failed us!!!" Kim tweeted to the liking of over 20k fans. "So sad! The senate voted against background checks being needed to buy guns. So terrorists on FBI's wanted lists can legally still buy guns. Oh & mentally ill people can buy guns without a background check too."

The proposal that was voted on would have barred people identified on the no-fly list from buying guns. Kardashian, who is an open supporter of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, has become increasingly vocal on the issue of guns as the campaign season has moved along, having also re-tweeted Igor Volsky of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, who read out a roll call of Senators who voted against the measure. Her protest on Thursday is reminiscent of a tweet she sent out last year after the murder of 8 people in Texas. In her message she focused in on online gun sales, writing, "How is it so easy to purchase guns online!!! Does this not sicken you? No background checks needed!!!!!"
