Eleven people were shot in Chicago on Wednesday [June 15], and at least one of the shootings was broadcasted live.  For the second time this year a Chicagoan was struck by gunfire while recording on Facebook Live, when 28-year-old Antonio Perkins was fatally wounded in a hail of bullets.  Back in March, Facebook user Brian Fields was critically injured when 16 shots were sent his way while he streamed video of himself.

Perkins was standing idly on South Drake Street with his cellphone camera angled up at his face when a gun began to burst at around 8:45 p.m.  A total of 12 shots could be heard as the phone falls in the commotion, catching a glimpse of what looks to be blood on the grass on which Perkins rested before panic begins to ensue from a screaming woman.  At one point a bystander is seen picking the phone up, looking into it, then dropping it back down.  "Call the police," the raspy voice of a male witness is heard hollering. "Tony, you good Tony, you good Tony," and "No Tony, no Tony," are repeated over and over again by women attempting to keep Perkins conscious.  He would be rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The video, which can be heard but not seen for up to 30 minutes after it cuts to black, has been viewed 450,000 times.  "This is so sad it will be impossible not to cry after listening to the family pour tears and describe what’s happening,” wrote Joyce Mosely, the original source of the video. “You can’t even sit in front of your house and enjoy your families company anymore!!!!”
