The passing of Muhammad Ali made waves in the world, with many taking to the internet, mainly social media, to voice their opinion on the legendary and iconic athlete. Personalities from Larry Wilmore, Johnny Knoxville, Puff Daddy, to Floyd Mayweather all gave positive and personal thoughts on Ali, cementing his legacy and influence on them. However, along with positive thoughts spread about Ali, many others had opposing views on the boxer, including Piers Morgan.

Morgan took to Twitter to express his views on Ali after being questioned about naming his opponents. Despite having tweets that acknowledge Ali's contributions to the civil rights movements, Morgan said "Muhammad Ali said far more inflammatory/racist things about white people than Donald Trump ever has about Muslims. #fact" Along with commenting on Ali and his comments, Piers Morgan also went on to call Joe Frazier racist as well. After going back and forth with numerous Twitter users, Morgan went on to apologize for his comments, saying "That's the last thing Muhammad Ali would have condoned."
