Before Desiigner was sounding like Future, Troy Ave was accused of jacking 50 Cent’s whole style, but that came to end once the two collaborated and built a relationship.

The elder statesmen and diamond recording artist voiced his support for Troy Ave on Instagram yesterday by sharing a clip from their 2015 song “Bang Bang.” After a vicious shooting inside Irving Plaza during a T.I. concert last week, Troy Ave was sent to the hospital and finally discharged yesterday. He is being charged with attempted murder among other charges, but is pleading not guilty to all, according to his attorney Scott Leemon. The rapper was even captured on camera firing his gun. “What really happened here is Mr. Collins here is the real victim,” he said in a statement yesterday. “The person who was killed at this event, he died a hero. He was his bodyguard. He wasn’t shot by Mr. Collins. He was a lifelong friend. ”He also disputed using the video as evidence to convict Troy Ave. “This 11 seconds of video that the NYPD released, it doesn’t say what happened before, it doesn’t say what happened after. The scientific evidence will show he didn’t shoot himself,” he continued.

Troy Ave’s lifelong friend and bodyguard Ronald McPhatter was killed in the melee. Troy was also shot in the leg. McPhatter’s brother Shanduke took to social media this week and claimed that the victim and rapper were shot at by someone in podcaster TaxStone’s crew. The shooter reportedly shot at McPhatter and Troy Ave, and then dropped the gun. Troy picked up the gun and started firing back in self defense.
