Camouflage bandannas, long white-tees, fire on the set; Tyga released the video to his new single "Cash Money" on Thursday (May 26), and it had all of the makings of retro Hot Boyz video. The Last Kings/Young Money artist brought flossing to a new level though, one upping the iced grill and iced out watch [which he raps about the same], to update fans on the minks, Hermes, and private jet he is enjoying. Like the songs lyrics, it's visual exudes rap extravagance with Lamborghinis, loose hundreds, and mermaids in a penthouse pool.

All things considered, with Tyga it's difficult to tell whether through imitation he intends to flatter these days. Some weeks back, fans buzzed about Instagram when he followed up a photo ex Kylie Jenner posted of her matching diamond watches with new pal PartyNextDoor, by posting a photo of his own sparkly wrist with a caption mocking "Diamond battles". While the "Cash Money" video is on one hand clearly a homage to it's namesake (opening up with a nod to Juvenile as he spits "Last Kings Records takin' over for the 2016 'till forever"), the headline grabber is a motif that blasts Birdman's shady business reputation throughout. "Cash Money never paid me," Tyg recalls in the hook, before completing each verse in advocacy of Lil Wayne, shouting out "Weezy" and advising "if your man is low n***a, you should pay him." He later calls for the label to put out Carter V.

Hip-hop has largely voiced disdain over the turn Baby's historic label began to take, as artists from it's very foundation [from The Hot Boys to Mannie Fresh] would eventually come forth with lawsuits for proper compensation. Most recently the mogul was forced to do what he could to salvage his image after the famous Breakfast Club encounter that saw him break, brought all of the baggage of past interviews rejecting him up. Since Tyga's own fall-out with his overseer, he has gone rogue, leaking his last project, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty against the label's wishes, and taking matters into his own hands to put out his upcoming #B****ImTheS***2 mixtape.
