Vlad TV regular and Brand Nubian star Lord Jamar stars in the upcoming HBO series “The Night Of,” and appears in the latest trailer.  "The Night Of" also stars Michael K Williams, John Turturro and JD Williams

A new preview for the series titled “The Night Of: Freddy Vignette” was uploaded to YouTube this week and features Jamar playing what appears to be a prison security guard. He is seen escorting someone into a cell and tells them “c’mon.” in the clip. This isn’t Jamar’s first HBO gig as the rapper has had roles on critically acclaimed series such as “Oz” and “The Sopranos.” He’s also made appearances on other network’s hit shows including “Person of Interest,” “Elementary,” and “Rescue Me.” Jamar is credited with being in 6 episodes of “The Night Of” on IMDB.com. HBO.com described the upcoming show as “an eight-part limited series that delves into the intricate story of a fictitious murder case in New York City.”

The series was developed by Steven Zaillian and Richard Pryce. Zaillian was the writer for films like “American Gangster,” “Gangs of New York,” “The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo,” and “Schindler’s List.” Price has written for the HBO series “The Wire,” and has written for films including “Shaft,” “Ransom,” and “Kiss of Death.” “The Night Of” is set to premier on Sunday, July 10.
