Bernie Sanders entered a rally in Lancaster, California to DMX’s 2003 song “Where the Hood At?”

The democratic presidential candidate has received a bevy of support in the Hip-Hop community getting endorsements from rappers like Killer Mike, Scarface and U.G.K.’s Bun B. The nod to DMX could be a firm acknowledgment by Sanders of his support in the rap world. Sanders chose the clean version of the record to make his entrance that was caught on video and uploaded to YouTube. The crowd pretty much erupted after Sanders walked out to the song.

“Where the Hood At” was originally featured on DMX’s 2003 album “Grand Champ.” The rapper takes aim at one time rival Ja Rule on the record. “Cats don’t know, what it’s gonna be. F***in with a n****a like me. D to the M to the X. Last I heard y'all n****as was having sex. With the same sex. I show know love. To homo thugs,” raps X in the first verse. DMX doesn’t seem to follow politics too closely and told XXL that he never heard of current president Barack Obama when he was running for president back in 2008. The reporter asked if he had heard of the black guy running against Hillary Clinton and reacted by saying he wasn’t following the presidential race. “It doesn’t matter. They’re gonna do what they’re gonna do,” said DMX while speaking about the election. “It doesn’t really make a difference. These are the last years. I mean either way it doesn’t matter. I don’t care. No one person is directly affected by which president, you know, so what does it matter.”
