Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane returned home on an early release from prison Thursday (May 26). The news was confirmed by wife Keyshia Ka'oir via Snapchat, when a photo of her in her husband's company was posted with a caption that read "Reunited". The 36-year-old trap extraordinaire has watched the rise of such stars as Young Thug, Migos, Peewee Longway, and Rich the Kid, who were influenced by his music, from behind bars since his September 2013 arrest on weapons and drug charges.

After serving eight months for firearm possession by a convicted felon, disorderly conduct and marijuana possession among other charges he was slapped with, when police responding to a call conducted a search that revealed the incriminating evidence in his home; he plead guilty to the felonious firearm charge in May of 2014 and accepted a plea deal that was supposed to grant him freedom in September. Over the course of his incarceration the "Free Gucci!" slogan became a cause for fans of the beloved Hip Hop personality. The public's demand would eventually fuel rumor to spread of his impending release, as news surfaced that his lawyers were working on getting him out of the Indiana federal penitentiary before his September date.

In spite of his 32-month detention Gucci's career had continued to move at a relatively prolific pace. He managed to release over a dozen mix-tapes while away, giving him a total of 49 of them, on top of his 9 studio albums.
