Followers of MMA superstar Conor McGregor's Instagram handle got a look at how he's doing through the reflection of his face on the steering wheel of a new Rolls Royce, Wednesday morning (May 25). And with palm trees behind him and a pair of Gucci kicks on his feet before him, McGregor apparently wasn't about to let a chance to stunt on Floyd "Money" Mayweather pass without calling him out by name.

"I smell like a brand new car, wearing brand new clothes. Why would I ever give a f*** about you gossiping h**s," McGregor wrote, following up the braggadocio with hashtags that made tongue and cheek reference to a 50th fight [#50Rolls], co-opting Floyd's trademark moniker [#MoneyMcGregor] and directly challenged a response [#WhatsFloydGonnaDo?].

Earlier this month, what began in UFC head Dana White's words as "a rumor," became legit when Floyd came out and admitted that it was he who broke a story on negotiations having taken place for a possible clash between he and the Irishman. Since that time Mayweather has insisted that the prospects of the mega fight actually taking place remains open, declaring after trademarking names associated with a 50th fight and admitting before analysts that he was considering a comeback, that if he does return it would only be to take on Conor. While the White/UFC camp have maintained that the chances of reaching a deal are far-fetched, some are optimistic that all of the public banter is signal enough that a road is being paved for a date, with Fox Sports commentator Colin Cowherd going as far as having already booked a room in Vegas for September.
