According to the NY Daily News, three Brooklyn gang members were charged with conducting a violent robbery via home invasion because they were discovered modeling stolen Balmain jeans on Facebook from the robbery. Assistant U.S. Attorney Margaret Gandy stated that the jeans the gang members stole and posed in were not from “Macy's or TJ Maxx” but super recognizable jeans with unique indicators.

The three gang members allegedly discovered the apartment because one of the victims of the robbery was running an illegal imported clothing racket that was funded from fraudulent credit card purchases. The victim was advertising the stolen goods on Facebook, which led to the gang members going to rob them.

Court documents also noted that there was a fourth gang member who did not post anything to Facebook, but was still arrested. All four members are facing up to 10-years in prison if convicted.
