Back on April 29, Drake dropped his long-awaited, Views project. Despite the album receiving some mixed reviews from many hip hop enthusiasts, Views has quickly become one of Drake’s most commercially successful projects. However, his success hasn’t come without criticism. Dancehall artist, Mr. Vegas has been quite vocal when it comes to voicing his displeasure about Drake’s “culture appropriation” of the Dancehall sound without ever featuring artists from the genre. It appears as though the “6 God” has been watching and listening for that matter, as over the weekend while in Las Vegas, Drake sent a direct response to Vegas.

Over the last few weeks, Mr. Vegas has made no qualms about calling Drizzy out for his sudden fondness of infusing island culture’s sound in his music and never using it as an opportunity to big up Dancehall artists in the genre. In a video log, Vegas makes mention of Drake’s recent success with tracks such as “Hotline Bling”, “One Dance”, “Controlla” and more. Vegas went on to suggest that Dancehall is a wave than many people are jumping on such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and more. Vegas’ jabs at Drake didn’t go unnoticed.

Drake who is currently in Las Vegas for the Billboard Music Awards, kicked off the weekend to a proper start with performances at Jewel Nightclub on Friday night and a special performance alongside Future for Floyd Mayweather’s daughter Sweet Sixteen party on Saturday At the conclusion of his eventful weekend of performances, Drake took to Instagram to post a photo of himself, and responded to Vegas’ shade by inserting lyrics from his “Heads High” track as the caption.
