Recently, dancehall artist Mr. Vegas called out Drake, saying the rapper has continuously jacked various Caribbean artist's styles for some time. Mr. Vegas specifically pinpointed Drake’s latest album Views, saying Drake was using reggae artists and their songs without giving the proper credit. Vegas also took to Facebook to air out his frustrations, saying, “Why did Drake link Beenie Man to on sing back that record if that’s the one he wanted? Or why let Beenie Man do something new? So then I’m listening to the record further and at the end of the record when the record done, you can hear the record fin, Beenie Man doing the outro. So I’m like, Drake is rampaning my artists! You using my artists as intro men!”

Vegas also pointed out how Drake may have lifted from reggae artist Popcaan, who was supposed to be on the track “Controlla.” Vegas said “I’m listening to the record like, Where’s Poppy? So me say fast forward and at the end of the record again is another sample and the sample is from Popcaan. An old Popcaan record!”

Now, Popcaan has responded back to the claims Mr. Vegas made, denying that Drake is biting anything from him or reggae artists in general. Popcaan, who has a well-documented friendship with Drake, took to a video to clear the air. He said “Don’t try and violate my brother, now. You don’t know anything about Unruly or OVO. This is the truth. Leaved the youth alone.”
