For his Coke Boy label mates and fans of the late Queens rapper, May 17 will always signify the 2015 passing of Chinx. A year to the date of the shooting that took the life of the artist born Lionel Pickens, eOne Music released the first single off of his sophomore album, Legends Never Die, on Tuesday (May 17). "Like This" is a Chrisette Michele and Meet Sims featured mix that is sure to get radio burn leading up to the summer release.

"Keys, valet, got the whip outside/ Shawty knows she f***ing with a boss/ Throwing back shots of the Henn all night/ And she down to break a n**** off," the once promising rapper asserts before switching up his flow on the smooth dance friendly beat.

It was 4 am the morning after a Saturday night club performance, when police responded to reports of a drive-by shooting in Briarwood, Queens. Both Chinx and the passenger had been hit, and were rushed to Jamaica Medical Center, where he would succumb to wounds to the torso. Due to the absence of hard evidence or willing witnesses, the shooting has gone unsolved. Pickens was 31-years-old.

At the time of his murder, Chinx, who had featured on 14 mixtapes dating back to 2009, was on the verge of dropping his debut album. Welcome to JFK would be released posthumously. The future may bring even more work from the Far Rockaway rhymer, as he is said to have left behind an abundance of material. His follow-up, Legends Never Die, is scheduled to drop on July 8.
