Lupe Fiasco once again rebelled against the establishment and public opinion this week when he requested that retired U.S. Army General Stanley A. McChrystal run for president.

“Dear @StanMcChrystal. We could use your leadership skills in combating inner-city violence. Sincerely, LF PS (please run for POTUS),” tweeted Fiasco yesterday. McChrystal has not responded to the request at this time.

The General is best known for his command of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) in the mid-2000s and is credited with the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the former leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq. He also served under President Obama and was in charge of the war in Afghanistan. McChrystal was forced to resign after making off-color remarks about Vice President Joe Biden in a Rolling Stone interview back in 2010.

The General currently serves on the board of directors for tech company FiscalNote. He has also worked on the board of directors for several other companies including JetBlue Airways, Navistar International and Siemens Government System, where he serves as Chairman of the Board. His leadership skills have been praised by the likes of Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates who said he was “the finest warrior and leader of men in combat I had ever met,” in his book “Duty: Memoirs Of a Secretary At War.”

Lupe Fiasco is a vehement opposer of President Obama and has not endorsed Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, or any other presidential candidates currently in the running. He even told CBS News in 2011 that “the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America.” He also showed his disdain for Obama at a 2013 inauguration party in Washington D.C. where he was escorted off stage for performing “Words I Never Said,” a song that explains why he doesn’t support the President, for 30 minutes straight.
