It appears that things continue to take a turn for the worse with former couple, Future and Ciara. The two entertainers, who share a 23 month-year-old son, are preparing to take the gloves off in court as early as next week. Back in January, Ciara filed a $15 million dollar defamation lawsuit against Future for claiming he paid her $15K in child support as well as speaking ill of her on Twitter. In April, Future countersued Ciara, claiming she didn’t have a career to damage, as he claims it was over long before he tweeted his statements. According to The Jasmine Brand, the two will appear before a judge in Georgia for a hearing where Ciara is set to question Future under oath for a deposition.
According to the website, Ciara has ordered her legal team to pull out the big guns on her ex. The singer reportedly wants her baby’s father to take the stand and answer questions under oath regarding his tweets, child support payments, and even Ciara’s new fiancee, Russell Wilson. Back in January, Ciara sued Future after he went off on Twitter calling her a “b****,” and accusing her of keeping their son from him. Courtroom documents suggest Ciara originally opted for a public apology from Future where he would have retracted his statement about her. However, Future refused, which is when legal action was taken on Ciara's part.
Ciara is currently seeking $15 million in damages and $250K in legal expenses. We will have to stay tuned to see how it unfolds for the two. Hopefully, they can find some middle ground for the sake of their son.
