Martin Shkreli, the pharmaceutical executive best known for buying Wu Tang Clan's $2 Million “Once Upon A Time in Shaolin” album pledged to donate $10,000 to Autism Speaks after contacting the family of Andrew Farrell, the 19-year-old airport worker who was publicly humiliated by 50 Cent.

Shkreli decided to give the money after the Farrell family received an apology from 50 Cent and asked the rapper to give $10,000 to Autism Speaks, according to the Daily News. The donation will go into a GoFundMe account that is expected to be posted by the Farrell family in the next few days.

Shkreli claims he's making the donation to encourage 50 Cent to do the same. “I’ve been a 50/G-Unit fan since Power of the Dollar. 50 made a mistake, apologized & has been forgiven,” Shkreli tweeted on Wednesday. “But autism awareness is still a problem. The GoFundMe campaign is designed to allow the public to pitch in. Shkreli has several close friends and a family member who are autistic, according to TMZ. He also told the publication that his companies are trying to develop new treatments for autism.

The situation stems from 50 Cent who berated Farrell, and believed at the time was on drugs, on video and posted it to social media. The video went viral and the boy’s family spoke out letting the rapper know that he suffers from several disorders including social anxiety, autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. After learning about the boy’s condition, 50 Cent issued both a public and a personal apology to the family. The Farrell’s decided to not take any legal action against the rapper after he acknowledged his mistake.

Shkreli learned of the incident and decided to pitch in. However, the exec who once traded verbal blows with Ghostface Killah has certainly seen better days. Just a few days back the feds disclosed that he could get hit with a superseding indictment related to a scheme with his company Retrophin. He was also arrested in December on securities fraud charges.
