Like other rappers, Drake likes to name drop athletes in his songs.  He's done so previously with Stephen Curry and now with Kevin Durant.  On his song "Weston Road Flows" off his new album VIEWS, Drake drops a few bars about the Oklahoma City Thunder star.

“A lot of people just hit me up when my name is mentioned, Shout out to KD we relate we get the same attention.
It’s rainin’ money, Oklahoma City Thunder, The most successful rapper 35 and under.”

Kevin Durant was asked how he feels about being name-dropped in the track.  Durant says it's a good song and he was taken by surprise that he was named in it.  "When your favorite rapper puts your name in a song, it makes you feel like you made it," said Durant.

Drake previously expressed his admiration for Durant when the former MVP attended the rapper's concert in Toronto.

"Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something," Drake told the crowd. "You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen."

Drake was named the Toronto Raptors global ambassador in 2013, his concert comments were seen as him trying to recruit Durant and led to a $25,000 fine against the Raptors for violating the NBA's anti-tampering policy.

Durant is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and of course several teams including the Lakers, Wizards and more are hoping he will decide to leave the Thunder.  Drake might escape a fine this time, but there's speculation that those bars were calculated. Or he could just be saluting a good, popular basketball player.
