In January 2014, Longtime 50 Cent associate Mazaradi Fox was gunned down while driving through an intersection in Queens with three others in the car. Mazaradi Fox ended up dying, while the other three passengers were wounded by the gunfire. Now, Jamal Scott — a suspect in the shooting who spent two years in prison for his alleged role in the murder, is expected to go free after charges against him in the case were dropped.

According to court records, the charges were dismissed by Queens DA Richard Brown, and comes after one of the passengers who was wounded by the gunfire, Rayesha Brockington was indicted for perjury. Brockington and the other witnesses told the police that the gunman was originally wearing a mask, but changed her story and pinpointed Jamal Scott as the gunman. However, her story changed after she insisted that the NYPD coerced her into pointing out Scott after being threatened to have her children taken away from her by the Administration for Children’s Services.

The perjury charges against Brockington are what pushed forward the decision for charges to be dropped against Jamal Scott.
