Thursday night, Donald Trump held a rally in California at the OC Fair and Event Center. There was much anticipation for the Republican’s arrival, both from supporters along with many protesters. Trump’s past rallies have been less than welcoming to protesters, so the outcome of this rally already had a potential to get wild, and that’s exactly what went down. While Trump’s rally was going on, protesters gathered outside the venue and blocked traffic, which led to police officers arriving at the scene in riot gear.
The arrival of police set off many fights between Trump supporters and protesters, and resulted in 20 people being arrested according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Amongst the commotion, one Trump supporter was punched in the face and left bloody. Along with leaving one protester bloody, a police car was greatly damaged, with people jumping on top of the car, while smashing the windows out and kicking the doors in. While the fighting was still going on, many people continued to protest while being forced down the street by police.
According to CNN, protesters said they were marching against Trump’s stance on illegal immigration, which is why some of them were carrying Mexican flags during the demonstration. The protest and demonstration falls in line with what YG and Nipsey Hussle predicted would happen if Donald Trump carried out his rally in California on the song “F— Donald Trump.”
